Joakim Pusenius (b.1984) works with moving image, photography and installations. His artistic work is multimedial, but it always starts and comes back to film, to its special relationship with time and memory. In his artistic work, Pusenius directs his gaze towards the current state of human life. The characters found in the open moments of Pusenius' works rarely tell their own special story, but are always formed as part of a larger whole or a situation of which they act as witnesses. Pusenius graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 and continued his education at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in 2016-2017. Pusenius' works have been shown at the international experimental film festival Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin in several different years. During 2024, he has two solo exhibitions , the first of which was in April at the Huuto gallery and the latter in October at Poriginal Gallery, Pori.
